Homework

So I just asked Reese what she did today in school. Ha!!! This kid seriously cracks me up! Enjoy!!!

Me: Reese, what did you do today at school?
Reese: Oh, we talked about pres dents. Oh, and guess what mom?
Me: What?
Reese: Do you know who the best pres dent is?
Me: No, who?
Reese: Rock O Bama
Me: Ha....oh really. I wonder what Grandpa would say about that?
Reese: Yeah, he's the best pres dent. Oh and guess what else? Two others got shot in the head!

I don't know what's more funny:
1. How she pronounced the word president. "Pres Dent"
2. The fact that she thinks the presidents name is Rock Obama
3. The only other thing she remembered was that 2 people got shot in the head

or 4. That she thinks Obama is the best president ever (that ones for you Carey!!! wink wink!)

And that folks, is your history lesson for today! Hope you learn-did alot (as Reese would say!)

Gods Way....

Call me biased, but when ya make 'em this cute, I think that's Gods way of saying we should have one more? Unfortunately, her daddy doesn't agree!!!

(Clarification, he agrees that she's adorable. He DOESN'T agree w/ God! How does he sleep at night!!!!)

Weekend at the Supple's

Last weekend we headed down to Des Moines to visit our Wartburg groupies!

On Saturday we watched Arch's team play at the Wells Fargo Center. Luckily for us, the town of Albia decided to make these huge "Blow Up Kevin Archer Heads". Yes, I did in fact say, huge Kevin Archer heads! The sight of these beautiful pieces of art literally brought Carey and I to tears!

Generation II - Wartburg College You Ra Ra Ra!!! (Reese, Zach, Lauren & Drew)

After the game we just went back to Soup and Carey's. After numerous attempts to get Paige & Charlie's picture, we gave up. Here's the best we could do w/ 2 babies on the move!

Thanks for a fun weekend Supple's!!! We're so glad to have you back closer to home!

Busted!!!

So not ready for this yet......

9 Month Growth Chart

9 months old! Where has the time gone! Well, the last 3 months have pretty much been spent in the doctors office. In fact, we just got back from ENT this morning. (Is it a bad sign when you walk into the pharmacy and the receptionist says, "Oh no, back again!")

Paige has been battling serious sinus infections since she was about 6 months old. Root cause is her adenoids, but the ENT doc won't take them out until after she's a year old for multiple reasons. So we go from antibiotic to antibiotic, which I hate, but there's no other options right now.

Anyway, if you can't tell from the pictures below, she was just starting to get sick when we tried to get these pics taken. And when she's sick, nothing but her bottle, taggie blanket & a binki make her happy!

So this first picture is just going to have to do. The second one I threw in there for comedy purposes later in life!!!

I'm going to bet by her 10 month post, we will have a walking baby on our hands. She's so close. Both Lauren and Reese were walking at 9 months too. She can stand on her own for a few seconds, and I really think she could do it longer, but the second she realizes what she's doing, down she goes! She's definitely getting more brave tho.

She absolutely lights up when Lauren and Reese walk into the room. She could sit and play w/ her big sisters for hours. Unfortunately, her big sisters can only take about 30 minute increments! (Can't say I blame them!)

She's still as blue eyed as they come, which I love! Her hair is darkening up a bit, but there's no doubt in my mind she's going to be a blondie like her daddy! And her skin.....well, that's still pretty pale! Looks like we'll be investing in some sun screen next summer!

She's an amazing sleeper. Goes to bed around 8 pm. Some mornings we'll hear her in her crib, talking away about 5:30. But 99% of the time, she finds her binki and goes back to sleep until about 6:30 or 7ish.

We started on some table food this past month, which was the end of any vegetable baby food! She will NOT eat it. Actually gets very mad when I even try! So it's pretty much table scraps, cereal & her bottle these days.

She has her 9 month check up next week and I'm gonna guess she's around 19 lbs, so we'll see!

Well, that's about all I can think of right now. Happy 9 month birthday Boo Boo!!!

Reese's 5th Birthday

Poor Reese always kinda gets the shaft for her birthday! With it being right after Christmas, everyone is kinda partied out, including us! So unfortunately, we have a tendency to just do something pretty low key for her. Luckily tho, she is perfectly fine with that plan!

This year, the weekend before her birthday, Troy and I took all the girls down to the Quad Cities for an overnight stay in a hotel and a Harlem Globetrotters basketball game. (Or the funny game as Reese calls it!)

Our friends, Janae, Ambria and Camden were able to join us for some swimming time, which was great. (To bad Trent had to be out of town for work!)

The afternoon was a lot of un, aside from a small potential drowning situation w/ Cam! Let me tell ya, someone very special was watching over that little boy. Proof of how taking your eye off a child for 5 seconds could impact the rest of your life. Thank God, Cam was fine....but Janae was a little wet! And after a few beers to stop the shakes, we were still able to enjoy our afternoon!

This was Boo Boo's first time in a pool, and I have a feeling it won't be her last. She loved it. She simply floated around in that yellow thing for about an hour w/o hearing a word from her! Which reminds me exactly of her big sister Lauren. She did the same thing when we took her to the Dells when she was this age.

This was Lauren back in 2004 at the Dells.....

After we got done swimming, we got ready to go get some pizza.

After we ate, Troy & I took Lauren & Reese to the Harlem Globe Trotters game. (Thanks again Janae for watching Paige so we could enjoy the game!)

The girls loved the game. Reese's favorite part was when the guy bent over to get the ball and farted. And Lauren's favorite part was when the guy was shooting a free throw and the other guy pulled his pants down from behind! The whole show was pretty entertaining and I would highly recommend taking your kids if you get a chance.

On Reese's birthday, keeping w/ tradition, we headed to Happy Joe's. Unfortunately, I didn't recognize the window in the background and how horrible my pictures were turning out. This is the only pic I was able to get of her w/ her famous Sundae.

Her she is, all dressed up in her new outfit and boots, ready for her big day at school! Cupcakes proudly made and ready to distribute!

After school, I picked Reese up and I wish I could have captured the look on her face. Her #1 godmother had sent her balloons to school for her big day. When she walked out that door, carrying those balloons, her face was screaming, "Hey everyone, look at me. I'm cool. I know it. I got balloons!" It was priceless! Thanks D, for making her day extra special!

Happy Birthday Reese Olivia! You are beyond one of a kind! I can't wait to see where your personality takes you in life! We love you and hope you had a GREAT 5th Birthday!

The Life of a Teacher

So, Troy is sitting in the kitchen right now correcting tests. I went into the laundry room to start a load of laundry and when I walked out, he was opening up a bottle of wine. Just for the record, we NEVER drink wine. (But we are out of beer, so...)

Anyway, quote of the night:

Me: What are you doing?
Troy: Opening up a bottle of wine, want some?
Me: Um no, I hate wine. Why are you drinking wine?
Troy: Gotta do something to get thru correcting these tests and we're otta beer, so.......!

Ha! Not sure if I should post this or not, but figured, what the heck! He'll be mad tomorrow when he sees this, but I couldn't help myself! You go honey!

Chant w/ me now everyone: Mr. O.....Mr. O......Mr. O!!!!

Hahaha!!!
